We're going to take a look at the most expensive houses currently owned by rappers. This includes some of the biggest names in rap today, like Drake and Jay-Z.

1) Drake - $100+ million
Topping our list is none other than Champagne Papi himself, Drake. His 35,000-square-foot mansion sits in his hometown, Toronto - second on our list of the most expensive cities in Canada. The house was custom-built for Drake, and the grounds are spread over two acres.
The mansion sits in the exclusive Bridle Path area of Toronto, and Drake bought the land for $6.7 million in 2016. With the help of designers, Drake then built his dream home, which is still the most expensive house owned by a rapper.
Bridle Path sits second on our list of the most expensive neighbourhoods in Canada, and it’s easy to see why…find out with our blog!
2) Jay-Z - $45 million
Second on our list of the most expensive rapper houses is Jay-Z's $45 million mansion in Holmby Hills. It was built and designed by an Italian developer and is an incredibly luxurious living space.
It has its own tennis court and a movie theatre. It also features a cellar, two libraries, and a catering kitchen. Outside, there's a swimming pool and a rooftop terrace for catching some rays.
That $45 million price tag has also secured Jay-Z and Beyonce seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms. So, there should be enough room when the rest of Destiny's Child visits.
The amazing thing is that this was actually Jay-Z and Beyonce's second choice. They also bid $70 million on a different house before settling on this beauty.
This luxury pad has actually dropped in price since the couple bought it. It's now worth around $35 million. That's a drop of $10 million.
3) Dr. Dre - $40 million
Next on our list is the legend that is Dr. Dre. He was the first rapper to become a billionaire and is one of earth's most sought-after record producers. He bought his $40 million mansion from Tom Brady, another living legend.
This pad has nine bathrooms and five bedrooms spread over 18,000 square feet. It even has a moat around the outside to give it the appearance of a true rapper's castle.
Located in Brentwood, CA, this contemporary palace is really fitting for one of the kings of rap.
4) Sean Diddy Combs - $40 million
The fourth mansion on the list belongs to none other than Sean Diddy Combs - aka P. Diddy. Like Jay-Z, his swanky pad is located in the exclusive Holmby Hills area in Los Angeles. It features a massive swimming pool shaped like a lagoon and an underwater tunnel.
In terms of size, this gem boasts 17,000 square feet of sheer luxury. It also has its own gym and a home theatre that can seat 35 people. Clearly, P. Diddy knows how to live in style.
5) Kanye West - $20 million
Ye, better known as Kanye West, has never been one to shy away from competition, and his house is no different. Situated in Calabasas, the mansion was bought for a cool $20 million. This area of California is popular amongst rappers, and a quick glance at Google Maps will show you why.
West's mansion is spread over 16,000 square feet and has eight bedrooms. The pad also has two swimming pools, a games room, and its own private vineyard.
6) Will Smith - $20 million
Will Smith is one of the most famous actors on earth but did you know he also used to be a rapper?
Back when he was known for starring in 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air', Smith also had a successful rap career. However, we imagine his movie career paid for this glamorous mansion.
Costing $20 million, Smith's family pad is located in Calabasas and was designed by Stephen Samuelson. It has a basketball court, tennis court, and a large swimming pool.
As it was designed from scratch, the mansion has a unique and stylish feel.
Who else was expecting this mansion to be in Bel-Air, though?
7) Bryan 'Birdman' Williams - $14.5 million
Bryan 'Birdman' Williams bought his Miami Beach mansion in 2010 for $14.5 million. It looks more like a palatial hotel than somebody's home. The property boasts nine bedrooms, 17 bathrooms, and a huge swimming pool. If that isn't enough, it also has a 100-foot stretch of waterfront.
Birdman built a custom bar at the mansion, which he uses to host lavish parties. We want an invite! We don't mind staying in the guest house, Birdman.
8) Pharrell Williams - $12.5 million
Next up is Pharrell Williams' $12.5 million Miami penthouse. Williams' impressive home is situated on the Miami waterfront, with plenty of living space at 9,080 square feet. It also has a home theatre, six bathrooms, and five bedrooms.
Heading outside, there's an outdoor kitchen, a rooftop terrace, and a large swimming pool. The interior of the penthouse is decorated in true Pharrell Williams style and emphasizes his unique qualities.
This is another fine example of a castle built by hip-hop.
9) Lil Wayne - $11.6 million
Lil Wayne bought his opulent pad all the way back in 2011. It cost him $11.6 million at the time and is most likely worth a lot more than that now.
It boasts a massive 15,101 square feet of living space, ten bathrooms, and nine bedrooms. There's certainly nothing 'Lil' about this place.
The master suite has two floors and is accessed via a glass elevator. For Lil Wayne's guests, there's also a three-bedroom guest house. Imagine having a guest house with three bedrooms and Lil Wayne for company.
10) Nicki Minaj - $10 million
Nicki Minaj's stunning home in the Flats area of LA set her back $10 million. It spans an impressive 7,000 square feet and has eight bathrooms and six bedrooms.
Minaj shares the mansion with her husband, Kenneth Petty, and the couple certainly live a lavish lifestyle. Anyone who follows Minaj on Instagram will have seen posts featuring her amazing home.
11) Tyga - $6.5 million
Although he's still young, Tyga already owns one of the most expensive houses in hip-hop. His 9,200 square-foot mansion in Calabasas has a movie theatre, a swimming pool, and seven bedrooms. Tyga and his guests don't need to worry about keeping in shape as there's a gym on-site.
The mansion also has a waterfall and eight bathrooms. If Tyga carries on in this manner, he may well be working his way even higher up this list in years to come.
12) Rick Ross - $5.8 million
The boxing legend Evander Holyfield sold this mansion to Rick Ross for $5.8 million when he could no longer afford it. It's located just outside of Atlanta, Georgia, in Fayetteville. The price tag seems pretty low when considering that this property has 109 rooms.
That's right. 109 rooms.
This includes twelve bedrooms and twenty-one bathrooms, sitting on 105 acres. The property has a baseball field, a bowling alley, a home theatre, and a recording studio. The mansion even has a separate boxing gym.
The swimming pool is absolutely huge and has a volume of 350,000 gallons. During the winter, there's also an indoor pool room for Ross and his guests to make use of.
13) Eminem - $4.8 million
Eminem is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable names in rap music. Hailing from Detroit, it's no surprise that he chose to buy a mansion in the Oakland County region of Michigan.
The property spans 15,000 square feet and has nine bathrooms and six bedrooms. Eminem bought the mansion for $4.8 million from the CEO of K-Mart in 2003. In true rapper style, the mansion has its own basketball court within the grounds.
14) Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges - $4.8 million
Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges bought his property for $4.8 million, which doesn't seem like a huge price tag considering the size. Its surface area measures 6,000 square feet, and it has five bedrooms.
The property's exterior features wrap-around balconies to make the most of the incredible views and infinity pool. It may not have a cellar or a recording studio, but this pad certainly holds its own against some of the more expensive properties on our list.
15) 50 Cent - $2.9 million
Next up is another mansion bought by a rapper from a boxing legend. 50 Cent's mansion in Connecticut was purchased from Mike Tyson in 2003 at a price of $4.1 million. It's a classically designed home that boasts no less than 52 rooms.
The lavish property also has two basketball courts, a games room, a pool room, a gym, and its own helipad.
50 Cent actually sold this property not too long ago for $2.9 million - 84% less than his initial asking price. It seemed that 50 Cent spent 12 years attempting to make a sale, hence the low price.
16) Nelly - $1.4 million
The last rapper on our list is Nelly. This mansion is so much cheaper than the others on this list because of its location. Most rappers choose locations such as Calabasas or Hidden Hills for their mansions. However, Nelly's property is located in Eureka, Missouri.
Although the location may not be as glamorous as Calabasas or Hidden Hills, the home itself is still unbelievable. It measures 9,000 square feet with a basketball court and a large swimming pool included on the grounds.
It may be at the bottom of our list, but we certainly wouldn't say no to Nelly's mansion.
