There’s no real theme to Mines, but the game doesn’t really need one, does it? The audiovisual presentation is slick and polished even without anything new in the mix, and your goal is to uncover Diamond symbols while avoiding Bomb symbols. It’s all rather simple, but it does the trick, and it allows players to focus on the actual gameplay.

Mines uses a theme akin to the classic mines game that many of us will have played in the past. It is a very different experience when compared with a traditional reels slot and it brings something different to the table. It incorporates only two symbols, which are, of course, diamonds and mines.

Players will quickly notice that there is no soundtrack in this slot, and the sound effects are minimal. There are quiet ping and ding-type sounds when mines and diamonds are revealed but apart from that, the game is very quiet.

There are only two symbols in this slot game: mines and diamonds. The diamonds are the ones you want, as the mines will lose you the game and end your turn. The object of the game is to search the grid and collect as many diamonds as you can, with each cell hiding either a diamond or a mine. Every time a player clicks on a cell that reveals a diamond, their prize amount increases. 

Above the gameboard, players will see a numbered bar. The potential prize they currently have access to is illuminated, which is the amount the player could walk away with if they were to exit their turn at this point. These prize values are depicted as multipliers of the current bet level and it is these multipliers that are the bonus in this game.

Once a bet is placed, players can keep picking cells until either a mine is hit and the game is ended or the player chooses to take their current prize amount and exit their turn. 

Mines is a different type of Hacksaw Gaming slots online; however, we enjoyed its differences and were pleased to play a slot that wasn’t the same as all the others. Being able to configure the size of the grid and the number of mines in the game is a nice touch.
